Cased Luftwaffe Pilot Badge. Type Assmann (Hybrid)

Tombak/brass based and in an excellent, probably unworn condition. The wreath with all of the matt white silver plate still present and some patina. The eagle with practically all of the dark oxidised finish and attached to the wreath with two brass rivets.
Not marked but a known variation that has been attributed to the company of Assmann & Sohn from Lüdenscheid. The eagle in the 1st pattern with cut out between the legs. The wreath the second pattern but much thinner than the standard 2nd pattern badge.
The fitting, Assmann type case in an excellent, barely used condition. Embossed in gold on top of the lid with the designation „Flugzeugführerabzeichen“. The inlet covered with blue velvet and the inside of the lid with blue satin.
