Cased Luftwaffe Paratrooper Badge. Type Assmann, Egg Shaped Wreath.

In an excellent, absolutely unworn condition. The wreath with all of the dark oxidised finish. The eagle with all of the matt gilt plate, the wingtips and swastika burnished. Attached to the wreath with two rivets. The pin straight and still dark oxidised.
Not marked but a known variation that has been attributed to the company of Assmann & Sohn from Lüdenscheid (A).
A very early pattern badge were the wreath is not evenly oval but more the shape of an egg.
The fitting case in a very good, barely used condition. The outside covered in the so called „Brain“ pattern and embossed in gold with the designation „Fallschirmschützen Abzeichen“. The inlet made of wood and covered with dark blue velvet, the inside of the lid with blue satin.
An very rare badge with very few examples known world wide in collection. Here in „mint“ condition. Unupgradable example.
