Cased Luftwaffe Observer Badge. Type Deumer (D1).

Tombak/brass based and in a very good, very slightly worn condition. The wreath with all of the matt silver plate still present and some patina. The eagle with most of the dark oxidised finish and attached to the wreath with two typical rivets.
Not marked but a known variation that has been attributed to the company of Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid. So called thin wreath, first pattern or D1 type badge.
The fitting, and typical, Deumer type case in a very good, slightly used condition. Embossed in gold on top of the lid with the designation „Beobachter“. The inlet covered with blue velvet and the inside of the lid with blue satin.
Extremely difficult to find set.
