Cased Luftwaffe Observer Badge. Maker GWL.

Tombak/brass based and in an excellent, probably unworn condition. The wreath with all of the matt silver plate still present, the swastika and high points burnished and all with some slight patina.
The eagle, typically with a light green tone, and attached to the wreath with two typical „doughnut“ rivets.
Marked on the reverse with „GWL“ in a circle for the company of Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid.
The fitting, and typical GWL type case in a very good, slightly used condition. Embossed in gold on top of the lid with the designation „Luftwaffe Beobachter Abzeichen“. The inlet and inside of the lid covered with blue sprayed felt.
