From the estate of Oberleutnant Wilhelm Keidel. Wilhelm Keidel began his military career with the Navy and later switched to the Air Force. He served in the 2nd Training Squadron of the Luftwaffe. With this squadron he was sent as part of the Legion Condor to the Spanish Civil War. During this time he served in the same unit as Adolf Galland (3rd squadron J / 88). He later served as a squadron leader in Jagd Geschwader 52 (J.G. 52). The J.G. 52 is the most successful fighter squadron ever. In all 9,000 kills are attributed to them. Well-known pilots such as Erich Hartmann, Gerhard Barkhorn and Günther Rall served here. Keidel died in aerial combat on July 25, 1940.
