Luftwaffe Honour Goblet. Fighter Pilot with 38 Victorys (!), „Erwin Sawallisch“. Silver.

Real silver based and in a very good, slightly used condition. No dents, dings or repairs and with an even patina.
Marked on the underside with the maker „Joh. Wagner & Sohn“ and hallmarked with the silver content „835“.
Awarded on 20.6.41 to Oberfeldwebel Erwin Sawallisch (born 8.10.1914, fallen 19.08.1942). Sawallisch served since October 1939 with the Legion Condor in Spain as part of the Jagdgeschwaders 8 (J.8) . From 1939 he was with Jagdgeschwader 77 (J.G. 77). He achieved his first victory already on 30.10.39, shooting down a British Blenheim near Helgoland. As part of J.G. 77 he scored another nine victorys over Norway. In August 1941 he transfered to Jagdgeschwader 27 (J.G.27). Here he scored another 27 victorys. Eight of those over the eastern front.
Afterwards he served withJ.G. 27 in North Africa , scoring another eighteen before being killed on 19.8.1942 during a dogfight over North Africa.

3 victories in Spain. One known victory, his 1st, a Blenheim northeast of Helgoland, 30 October, 1939.

He downed two more Wellingtons, Nos 2 & 3, north of Wangerooge on 14 December, 1939.
His 4th, a Wellington W of Stavanger on 30 April, 1940.
His 5th, a Skua at Trondheim, 13 June, 1940, while still in 4/JG-77.
His 6th, a Hudson at Bergen on 8 September, 1940. 17 victories in the Desert. One known victory, a Spitfire on 3 August, 1942. In eight days of combat after joining JG-27 in the desert, he scored 12 victories between 3 August and 12 August, 1942. Bowers/Lednicer, 38 victories.
