Paper Group Fritz Merkl with German Cross in Gold and Army Honour Roll.

A group of documents from the Hauptmann Fritz Merkl. Fritz Merkl was born 21.9.1911 in Amberg. He served with Infanterie Regiment 62, later as company commander with Infanterie Regiment 207. He was killed on 20.5.1942 near Kamenka South of Isjum in Russia. All in a very good condition and comprised of documents for:

– Annexation of Czechoslovakia Medal.
– Promotion to Leutnant.
– Promotion to Oberleutnant.

– Iron Cross 1st Class 1939 with original signature.
– Infantry Assault Badge, large A4 size.
– Black Wound Badge.
– Silver Wound Badge.
– Gold Wound Badge.
– German Cross in Gold with original signature „Keitel“, early war pattern
– Letter accompanying the German Cross in Gold.
– Congratulatory letter to the German Cross in Gold.
– Document to the Honour Roll. Trimmed slightly around the sides, otherwise good. Very seldom seen document.
– List of the Honour Roll with entry „Oberleutnant Merkl Kompanie-Chef in einen Infanterie-Regiment“.
– Accompanying letter to the Honour Roll document.
– Eastern Front Medal. Awarded posthumously.
– Accompanying letter to his wife for the Eastern Front Medal.
– The magazine „Signal“ from 2. April 1942, with an article about Fritz Merkls company, several photos with him.

Extremely difficult to find group with German Cross and Honour Roll. Never in a collection, straight from the family.
