Bronze Close Combat Clasp. Maker GWL.Close, Aluminium(!).

Aluminium based and in an excellent, probably unworn condition with all of the bronze wash still present. The magnetic backing plate with all of the dark finish.
Marked on the reverse with „GWL“ in a circle for the company of Gebrüder Wegerhoff from Lüdenscheid.
Exactly this clasp is shown in the bew book from Thomas Durante, The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II on page 194.
Probably the most difficult to find of all the close combat clasps, the bronze especially rare.
