Cased 1936 Olympic Games Medal 2nd Class.

Tombak/brass based and in an excellent, barely worn condition with all of the gilt plate still present, the enamel without damage. The Olympic rings attached separately with two typical rivets.
Not marked but a known variation that has been attributed to the company of Godet & Co., Berlin. On ribbon with pin.
The cream coloured case in a very good, slightly used condition. Embossed in gold on top of the lid with the Olympic rings. The inlet covered with tan velvet and the inside of the lid with grey satin.
Very nice and difficult to find set.

The 2nd Class German Olympic was instituted February 4th 1936 and was bestowed on German nationals and foreign personnel for special merits in the executive organization activity of the 11th Summer (Berlin) and 4th Winter (Garmisch-Partenkirchen) Olympic games.
