Cased Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. Type Early Klein & Quenzer (Joachim Genzow).

In a very good, barely worn condition. The core with all of the black paint. The ribbing in matt white silver, the flanges burnished and all with some patina. Hallmarked on the frame with the silver content „800“ . The spring ring also hallmarked with the silver content „800“. Not maker marked but a known variation that has been attributed to the company of Klein & Quenzer from Oberstein. See Dietrich März, The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross p.194 – 197. A very early example before the flaw in the 12 o clock arm developed.
With a piece of approx 25cm original ribbon.
The fitting case in a very good, slightly used condition. The inlet covered with black velvet and the inside of the lid with white satin.

From the possessions of Oberleutnant Joachim Genzow, Staffelkapitän 4./KG 2 (Holzhammer-Geschwader) also the later adjudant of Generalfeldmarschall Kesselring.
A very early cross in nice condition.
