A group of awards from the Guards Senior Sergeant Petr Khripkov. Khripkov served with the 84th Guards Mortars Regiment „Novozybkovo“. Guards Mortars was a code word for the feared „Katyusha“ rocket launchers.
Comprised of:

– Order of Glory 3rd Class. Real silver based and engraved on the reverse with the award number „222621“. The citation reads „On 4th September 1944, during the pursuit of the enemy near Lipnik, Khripkovs gun was attacked by a group of Hitlerites, he engaged them in a firefight, personally eliminated 5 and cleared the way for the advance.
On 5th September he was the first to take his gun across to the western bank of the river Narev where he performed courageously and selflessly despite ferocious enemy fire.
Since the breakthrough he has repelled 5 enemy counter attacks.“ Originally nominated for the Red Star, this was upgraded to OG3 at headquarters level.

– Bravery Medal. Real silver based and engraved with the award number 1450631. For exemplary command of his weapon.

– Medal for the Defence of Stalingrad. Tombak/brass based. 1st Pattern wartime issue.
