Real silver star with a hammer and sickle made of real gold and attached with two small rivets. The star in a very good, barely worn condition, the enamel without damage.
Marked on the reverse with the mintmark and engraved with the award number „572929“.
Awarded to a Lieutenant and platoon leader in a Guards Regiment of the Red Army.
He exhibited exemplary gallantry and fearlessness. Having the platoon in the forward line his position was ferociously attacked 4 times by the enemy. During the action he exhibited personal courage and inspired his men. Thanks to his masterly organisation of fire the position remained in the regiments possession and the enemy suffered severe losses. More than 100 enemy troops were eliminated with he personally being responsible for 10. Apart from this he was wounded but stayed on the battlefield until the attack was repulsed.
He also took part in the battles for Budapest and Vienna and received the campaign medals for both.
